Coquille RiverFest Car Show

The First Annual Coquille RiverFest Car Show is Saturday from 9am to 2pm in Downtown Coquille.

“The Coquille Police Department is excited to announce that we will be presenting the first annual Coquille RiverFest Car Show, formerly known as the Gay 90’s Car Show,” Coquille PD said in a news release.

The Car Show will take place on Saturday, June 3, in downtown Coquille.

Registration will take place from 8-10 a.m., with show hours being 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Come join us for the Coquille RiverFest Car Show, where there will be a parade, vendors, and lots of activities going on,” organizersa said.

Visitors who stay until the evening will see a fireworks show sponsored by the City of Coquille.

“It promises to be fun for the whole family!”

There is no registration or entry fee for the event, and donations will be accepted.

Donations will benefit the Coquille Police Reserve Program, Coquille Police K9 Program, and next year’s Car Show.

There will be 1st and 2nd place awards for the following classes:

  • Pre-30’s
  • 30’s
  • 40’s
  • 50’s
  • 60’s
  • 70’s
  • Corvette
  • Modern American Muscle Cars

Other awards include Best in Show, Most Likely to be Pulled Over, and more.

Roseburg Benefit Car Show

The 44th Annual Roseburg Benefit Car Show is Saturday and Sunday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2110 SW Frear Street.

  • Benefit for Douglas County Special Equipment Fund and the Douglas County Search and Rescue.
  • The Douglas County Special Equipment Fund provides equipment for handicapped children.
  • Show presented by Stray Angels Car Club and Umpqua Flatheads Car Club.
  • No entry fee – limit 65 entries.

Oregon Car Shows, Swap Meets & Races – March 6 – 12

Well, it’s still raining pretty much every day here in Northern California. I am sure anxious for some sunshine and for our Car Show season to begin.

I sure appreciated all the emails I received this past week with information on upcoming events. It is a huge help! I was hoping to make it to the Salem Roadster Show this past weekend, but maybe next year? My new friend Jim Wylder shared a few photos that he took. It looks like they had a lot of fun!

Here are a few of the events taking place this coming weekend:

March 10 – Stayton: The Covered Bridge Cafe Cars and Coffee is every Friday morning at 8am at Covered Bridge Cafe, 510 N. 3rd Avenue.

March 11 – Astoria: The Lower Columbia Classics Annual Swap Meet is Saturday from 8am to 2pm at Clatsop County Fair & Expo, 92937 Walluski Loop.

March 11 – Eagle Point: The Eagle Point Cars & Coffee is Saturday from 8am to 11:30am at the Eagle Point Grange, 5 South Shasta Avenue.

March 11 – Medford: The Medford Cars and Coffee is every Saturday morning from 9am to 10:30am at Southern Oregon Orthopedics, 2780 E. Barnett Road.

March 11 – Sherwood: The Portland Cars and Coffee is every Saturday at 8am at the Langers Fun Center, 21650 SW Langer Farm Parkway.

Here are some cool photos of a 1955 Powell truck that belongs to Miles Chappell of Eagle Point. I saw one for the first time last July in Alturas, CA. Miles is an expert on these very rare and cool trucks.

The Portland International Auto Show is Thursday to Sunday at 10am at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
